Mobi and Mobi Kids Game Rules
- You will have to play on a flat surface (table, floor, etc.).
- Start by taking out all the pawns.
- Sort the pieces into 2 piles. One pile for the blue pieces, one pile for the white pieces. Place both piles in the center of the table.
- All blue pawns must be face down. The game can begin!
GO!
- Each player draws their blue pawns.
Remarks :
For a 2-4 player game: each player draws 7 blue tokens.
For a game with 5-6 players: each player draws 5 blue pawns.
- The game starts with the “GO” signal given by one of the players.
- The players all play together. Each player draws from the pile of white pawns to form calculations with his blue pawns.
Here are some examples of possible calculations:
Remarks :
Each player builds their own grid in front of them. There are therefore as many calculation grids as there are players.
All equations are possible, even a simple equality!
Attention must be paid to the order of priority in the calculations:
All combinations are possible, the equalities must simply always be exact:
There is a wild card that can become any number!
FLIP!
- When one player has only one blue pawn left, he says "FLIP!" and all other players must draw 3 blue pawns from the pile.
Remarks :
- If there are not enough blue pawns in the pile for each player to draw 3, all players draw only 2 pawns.
- If there are not enough blue pawns in the pile for each player to draw 2, all players draw only 1 pawn.
SWAP!
- If a player cannot use one of his blue pawns, he has the right to put it back in the pile of blue pawns. He must then draw 2 new blue pawns from the pile.
END OF GAME
- The game ends when there are no more blue pawns in the center of the table and one of the players has used all of his blue pawns.
- We check that there are no calculation errors in the player's grid, if he has not made any mistakes, then he is crowned the winner!
TIP: It is even possible to play from the age of 3. Yes, it is possible to have fun with numbers before the age of reason! Here are some ideas:
- Playing collector (ideal for learning to recognize numbers): We have fun finding all the 1s in the game, then all the 2s, etc. We can thus point out that the 6 and the 9 are the same signs reversed, that the 0 has no meaning! To go a little further, we will not hesitate to classify the white pawns and name them!
- Playing Memo (ideal for learning to name numbers): Choose pairs of blue counters, i.e. two 1s, two 2s, two 3s, etc. Turn all of these counters face down and mix them up. The aim of the game is to find the pairs!
But don't worry, there is also a Mobi suitable for younger children: Mobi Kids! 🐳
Discover the little brother of the Möbi! The basic principle does not change, it is only an adapted version of the classic Möbi. The objective of the Möbi Kids is to learn to recognize numbers. These are pawns adapted to the psycho-motor development of children. Bigger numbers, different colors to understand the differences between signs and numbers.
These games and activities help encourage and nurture children's taste for numbers while giving them self-confidence! They allow them to progress gradually while playing as a family. Don't hesitate to use what the child knows to help them manipulate numbers.
