Sexploration, a fight for education
What can we say today about access to information on sex education for young people ? There are many gaps.
25% of schools do not provide any sex education, despite the fact that it is legally mandatory.
One in four girls doesn't know she has a clitoris by age 15.
8% of girls and 1% of boys aged 15 to 17 have experienced forced sexual intercourse, or attempted it.
STIs increased by 10% among 15-24 year-olds in 2014.
Finally, 7.7% of sexually active women aged 15 to 19 report having had an unwanted pregnancy in the last 5 years.
So, what conclusions can we draw from these facts? Is the lack of education and information the cause? Is the taboo established around the sexuality of young people responsible?
Today, young people have the right to quality sex education . The discourse must multiply and the tools must be developed. This is why Sexploration was born. Talking about contraception, protection, consent and above all pleasure is essential.
