Des cerf-volants japonais pour accueillir le printemps

Japanese kites to welcome spring

Spring is finally here! And it made us want to decorate the house with super colorful kites!

To make a Japanese kite you will need:

- tissue paper (5 colors)

- 1 pencil

- 1 pair of scissors

- 1 wooden skewer

- 1 wire of approximately 30 cm

- 1 roll of toilet paper

- 1 stencil to download here

Ready? Let’s get started!

Step 1

Download the “ Scale Stencil ” sheet

Step 2

Place the stencil on the tissue paper and draw the outline with a pencil. This is your first scale.

Step 3

Cut out your scale and place it in one of the circles of the “Japanese kite” sheet.

Step 4

Cut out the correct number of scales in 3 colors to fill the sheet.

If you add the colors of each scale, you get 50 scales! [20 blue + 22 yellow + 8 green = 50]

Step 5

Glue the scales in a line on the roll.

Step 6

To make the tail of your kite, cut 10 strips of tissue paper.

Step 7

Glue your strips onto the roll and draw eyes.

Step 8

Using the skewer, pierce a hole at the head.

Last step

Pass a thread and hang your kite at the top of the spike! You can also decorate it with ribbons, sequins...

And there you have it! You have learned how to make your own kite, and that additions are used to add quantities.
